For the first time in the world, 1000mW UV-C LED was successfully developed from Qingdao, China

Qingdao Jie recently announced the successful development of its 1,000 MW level of ultra-large output power of 275 nm UV-C deep UV LED, the result is the company in recent years has achieved mass production 10,000-hour life of 10 milliwatts of products, and mass production of 100 milliwatts flow of water sterilization module basis, once again made a major technological breakthrough.

The light source is a 3x3 array of 9 6868 package beads as shown in Figure 1. After the national standard calibration of the ball test, the 275 nm UV-C deep UV LED light output power of 1.35 amps DC to reach 1036 milliwatts, which is the world's first light output power of 1 watt level of UV-C LEDs deep UV light source.

The light source uses the most advanced epitaxy, chip, package and cooling technology, successfully solved the problem of heat dissipation of ultra-high power UV-C LED light source, it is estimated that the working life of this 1-watt level UV-C LEDs can reach 5000 hours the above. The current-power-spectral curve of the light source is shown in FIG. 2.

This result makes it possible to use deep-UV LEDs in large-scale industrial water treatment, air purification and large-area surface sterilization. Air purification and disinfection of large public places, including shopping malls, hospitals and kindergartens, as well as commercial large-scale water purification systems are of great importance.
